What is VESA Standard? What is the VESA Mounting Pattern of My TV or Monitor?

The vast majority of TV and monitors worldwide come with four holes on their backs to facilitate the installation onto walls or mounts. In 1889 the Video Electronics Standards Association, standardized the holes patterns, the VESA standard was created.

The standard defines the placement of the holes on the back of the display. VESA standard hole pattern mounts have the exact hole patterns of the TV already built into them. The patterns may vary depending on the size of the display. Common VESA standard hole patterns are:
